The Inheritance

A troubled child once asked her mother, "Mom, teach me how to think."

The mother responded to her baby girl with reassurance, "You already know. Simply be honest when you speak, and pay close attention to someone you trust."  The child chose her older sister who had been her confidant and playmate for the first ten years of her life.  This past week, Charlie has justified the mother's faith -- by following what she has called "Charlie's Angels" (i.e. the better angels of our nature).

Sadly, these youngest two of four children had been raised in a society where violence and abuse is common among parents -- a "schizoid society" according to Rollo May.  The mother in this case had miraculously escaped the violence that had divided so many of her peers, but our society, hooked on money and drugs, imposed blame in order to destroy her family anyway.

How? Fostering denial and allowing corporations and conglomerates to wrangle a "free lunch" at the expense of taxpayers, have made the fate of this family seem certain.  The mother has a passion for reading and the library that fits Dave's description.  The daughters have inherited IT in a different form -- hard work and television.  Their future does not depend on public education or the funding of government.

Letters: Signs from HIStory

Ruth has taken as a sign a letter from HIStory.  IT was sent y received on her only brother's birthday.  IT informed her of Carolyn's sudden loss of a husband on her birthday, 6 January.  Carolyn is the name of a family friend and also Ruth's first name.  Carolyn Ruth (the founder of CYFFR at RainbowWay.org) was married for thirteen years to Terry John.  They divorced in the early '70s.

In the '80s she became engaged to Lee whose family rejected her on grounds of religious beliefs. HIS BIRTHDAY IS THE DAY OF EPIPHANY, 6 JANUARY. They professed devotion to the Roman Catholic Church; Carolyn was born and remains Methodist.  With the help of their "only" brothers, the two accepted marriage as defined by "Common Sense" law.

Neighborhood Watch Report

Drs. Covenant House: incident, report of violent harassment against resident #108 Nava Manor

Friday, during the change of watch from RSVP to George's Business (Noon +/- 30 minutes), I was transfixed, impacted by the sound of a person slamming a hand or fist against the wall (or bulletin board) in the hallway behind me. I heard Kathy Garfio (Housing Authority employee), her voice loud and angry, say in response to Janet (resident apt.# 208) "I know IT was her!"

The story is history NOW. but IT follows the pattern of violent harassment to which we who live in Nava Manor have been subjected through the years.

This incident began when I entered the first floor hallway through the east door and saw Garfio, Janet and a third person entering the west wing hallway. As they passed my apartment door, Kathy demanded to know, "What's this?" She pointed to an RSVP (written communication) posted on my door. I had written a response by hand to a conversation that had begun with a notice slipped under my door about the parking situation.

Answering Kathy's question, I shrugged and said, "As you see."

She asked, "Do you know who took down the sign?" She pointed to the bulletin board where the notice had been posted that had started the written conversation.

"No." I responded truthfully.

As we crossed paths @ the fire door between the two wings of the building, she said, "IT's a felony to take down ...." I heard Janet's voice but not her words followed by the bang. I stood shocked and accused -- AGAIN!  I reported the incident to Dr. Crisp-Yeager, Neighborhood Watch volunteer, and to her partners at RainbowWay.org.

This morning [NOW=Saturday], two of them came to record (take a picture of) the communique on the door of apartment # 108. IT had disappeared. Neighbors reported that the Housing Authority "head hancho" had come knocking on resident doors to ask who had how many automobiles needing to be parked in the front lot. We speculated and complained to one another about this and the fact that Housing Auththority trucks do not belong to residents, yet routinely their emplyees take up space in the parking lot and use the community room and public rest rooms from which we and our guests are barred.

He Told She@RW.O

HIStory of last night's meeting of the Monday Evening Club:

IT was held at Thyme Square with Sue serving stew in a square loaf bowl and baked apple for desert.  A SAGE colleague of the medical community that serves CBR Youth Connect talked about life's eternal elixir, the addiction to giving one's "Self" as a volunteer.

This note has been made this morning by drCCYmom for US dex.  We did IT (i.e. sharing our thoughts) in the ARK... (or arc) of space/time.
