At RainbowWay.org a group of five RubyFriends has been collecting the stories of a whole community for updating the living book, George's Business: "Tending the Sacred Fire of Liberty." They are Abba (Lloyd & Billie Nelson), Herb (Sage RSVP), Dex (from Rome, Georgia) and Ruth. Ruth plays the role of scribe at the computer keyboard & the role of Mom in real life. S/he follows IT (WWW), and they travel The Way together.

Fighting The Dragon
Ruby Friends are doing IT and fighting the dragon on Facebook these days. What does "fighting the dragon" mean? To most people, including John, it means one thing. To Ruth it means something specifically different -- history and the green eyed dragon of jealousy. Using the phrase here in Google's version of the blogger, Mom has discovered something new. Refer to her post of 29 July 2013. If you want you may research her history through blogs:

The Will
Do we have the will to change? That is the question that has evolved from the terror reported by public media after the 2013 Boston Marathon. Four of us gathered on Saturday, 20 April, to consider IT. Ruth shared some new technology with Abba. As she and Grandad turned onto Hwy 50 toward La Junta, Ruth made a mental note of the change in advertising at the station. Mom smiled to herself in satisfaction. She was happy to see that her friend's taco wagon was still serving the community.

The Boy
Mom and Grandad listened to the boy's voice. "Holy Mackerel!" It reminded them of the movie, "Heaven Knows Mr. Allison," and renewed a conversation. The conversation had been ongoing with John who arrived minutes later to the Copper Kitchen.

G's Bus
NOTES (Abba's Stories):
1954, Lamar enroute from Ft.Sill to Rocky Ford, we were put off bus because of a strike, the drivers versus Trailways. Dod Tramain was also put off a bus as he was traveling from Kansas. We talked a while. We decided to try walking the remaining 68 miles home. We were on the bridge west of town when a car stopped. The driver offered to take us as far as Las Animas.

Dear Tim,
Separating my blogging from your email is probably an exercise in futility, but here goes. IT is simply what Google gives me today as an opportunity to do.

Matter of Time
We've been following The Way of Abba and writing in the name of Lloyd Nelson since the beginning.
We're rolling forward NOW into the New World, comparing two bodies of research.
The first is an excellent example of the conclusions drawn by the second. The way we keep time reflects our priorities -- even the way we view the world. If this is true, then spending time and attention on Daylight Saving reflects U.S. cultural priorities to be imposing our power and making money.

INTELLECTUALS AND SOCIETYDexter W. Hess shared his thoughts with the Monday Evening Club on March 26, 2012.
by Thomas Sowell
Basic Books 2009
From an early age smart people are constantly reminded of their intelligence and grow up tending to have an inflated sense of their own wisdom and importance to society. Intellectuals, like most of us, have a mixture of knowledge that is earned through rigorous exploration (learning) and complete in some areas with a mass of unverified notions in other areas. Notions are simply ideas that haven't been tested or verified, or that we carry as generalized conceptions.
Intellectuals often have visions of how the world should be. They often share or propose their visions to the rest of us who buy into them. Listed below are some present day social changes that have resulted from such visions....
Although we pride ourselves on our republican form of government – directed and controlled by three branches, the President, the Congress and the Supreme Court, each counter-balancing the power of the others and ultimately answering to a democratic vote of “We, the people” – in actual fact, we are governed by a multitude of overlapping and frequently contradictory bureaucracies not subject to any control by the citizenry.
