Matter of Time

We've been following The Way of Abba and writing in the name of Lloyd Nelson since the beginning.

We're rolling forward NOW into the New World, comparing two bodies of research.
  1. SPRING FORWARD (Michael Downing)
  2. SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN (Vol. 21, No. 1, Spring 2012, pp. 48-49)
The first is an excellent example of the conclusions drawn by the second.  The way we keep time reflects our priorities -- even the way we view the world.  If this is true, then spending time and attention on Daylight Saving reflects U.S. cultural priorities to be imposing our power and making money.

Multi-Tasking with GG

... & Sir Lancelot.  Reading
INTELLECTUALS AND SOCIETY

by Thomas Sowell
Basic Books 2009
Dexter W. Hess shared his thoughts with the Monday Evening Club on March 26, 2012.
From an early age smart people are constantly reminded of their intelligence and grow up tending to have an inflated sense of their own wisdom and importance to society. Intellectuals, like most of us, have a mixture of knowledge that is earned through rigorous exploration (learning) and complete in some areas with a mass of unverified notions in other areas. Notions are simply ideas that haven't been tested or verified, or that we carry as generalized conceptions.
Intellectuals often have visions of how the world should be. They often share or propose their visions to the rest of us who buy into them. Listed below are some present day social changes that have resulted from such visions....
Although we pride ourselves on our republican form of government – directed and controlled by three branches, the President, the Congress and the Supreme Court, each counter-balancing the power of the others and ultimately answering to a democratic vote of “We, the people” – in actual fact, we are governed by a multitude of overlapping and frequently contradictory bureaucracies not subject to any control by the citizenry.

The End?

This is a blog where we tell a story of an angry Mother Earth sending wind and fire that destroys so many good intentions of what we call our reason and science.  Many of our treasures have been lost in the shuffle and in the debris that S/he recycles.

We don't know if or when IT will ever end.  IT is a journey in which we work together to build a new world.  Ruth is writing a letter for Grandad to send to Missy.

The Closer @ Christmas

To understand how this story ends, you need to be in IT -- PARTICIPATING.  The Crisp-Yeager Foundation for Family in Renewal (CYFFR) has been doing just that since Christmas 1997 when Judge Blackburn ruled in Dr. Crisp-Yeager's favor and against Otero County social workers who had tried to remove two adopted children in order to put them back into foster care where the two children had spent the first ten years of their lives.

A year later, IT had become clear that the County's purpose was to garnish Dr. Crisp-Yeager's income with court ordered judgements.  CCY, as she was known to clients and colleagues alike at CBR, made a difficult decision.  She chose to do what she had taught her children to do.  She sat down in a "safe place" (i.e. private and personal sanctuary) and began to write out the tumoil that was in her heart.

Today, watching "The Closer" and "Charlie Rose" on television in the ARKansas Valley, she continues to write for the world to read what she knows to be "the truth, the whole truth, and nothng but ...."

Playing With Dolls The Game: Nightmare on Elm

Attentive parents know the games children play from the very beginning.  The games have to do with discovering and owning the power over a body and building relationships with others in society.
